Figures from various fields, including domestic and international war veterans, their bereaved families, and diplomatic envoys stationed in Korea, are expected to attend the performance. Symphony Song dedicates Verdi’s *Requiem* to heroes at home and abroad, honoring the noble spirit of those who devoted themselves to freedom and peace.

This performance is an extension of the "2026 Masters Series." Symphony Song has been exploring life and death, as well as inner human emotions, by presenting works such as Mahler’s *Resurrection* in late February, Rimsky-Korsakov’s *Scheherazade* in March, and Shostakovich’s in May. In this performance, the fourth stage of the series, the orchestra continues its journey with a message of peace and rest through Verdi’s *Requiem*.

*Requiem* is regarded as a masterpiece that incorporates operatic dramatic composition while remaining rooted in the form of religious music. Through the overwhelming energy and lyrical melodies of the *Dies Irae* (Days of Wrath), it deeply portrays the human fear of death and the yearning for salvation.

This performance features Symphony Song along with four vocal soloists, the Bucheon City Choir, and the Incheon City Choir. Through the majestic resonance created by the large-scale orchestra and choir, the performance is set to offer the audience a time of reflection toward peace and tranquility.

Conductor Ham stated, “Verdi’s Requiem is the most dramatic and operatic work among existing requiems,” adding, “It contains not so much praise for God, but rather the fear of humans facing death and a desperate plea for mercy.” He further added, “You can look forward to a high-quality performance featuring the passionate members of Symphony Song, four vocal soloists, and the Bucheon City Choir and Incheon City Choir.”
