[Seoul = Newsis] Reporter Han Yi-jae = Ham Shin-ik and Symphony Song will present the third performance of the '2026 Masters Series' at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the 30th at 7:30 PM.

Following 'Mahler's Resurrection' in February and 'Scheherazade' in March, the program illuminates the contrasts and tensions within 20th-century Russian music through the works of Shostakovich and Prokofiev.

The program features Shostakovich's Festive Overture, Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5.

Conductor Ham Shin-ik stated, "This program is structured so that works with different musical languages and sentiments, while set against the backdrop of the same era, flow together into a single narrative," adding, "I hope the audience can experience various emotional textures through the music."

In particular, Symphony No. 5, released in 1937, is a representative work of Shostakovich. The lyricism of the third movement and the intense conclusion of the fourth movement are considered the core of the work.

Pianist Kyu-Yeon Kim, who won second prize at the Dublin International Competition as well as the Best Soloist and Mozart Performance awards, will once again perform as a soloist following last year to present a work by Prokofiev.
